Our Story

Gypsy’s Sports Grille is a passion that started with a young lady at the ripe old age of 7 years old. Cheryl would often entertain her parents, grandparents, and their friends by serving them at get-togethers.
Her story: As the daughter of an Air Force Master Sergeant, Cheryl was born and raised in the Midwest with family roots stemming from western KY. During college Cheryl began her restaurant… career as a hostess, server, and bartender. After graduating college, her passion for the business never would leave her and she decided to pursue management opportunities. She eventually worked her way up the ladder from kitchen manager to general manager and then area manager.  After nearly 17 years of management in the corporate world she began the Gypsy’s dream in February 2014.
His story: From a small town outside of Oak Ridge, TN, Tracy was chasing his childhood dream of being a commercial helicopter pilot and instructor pilot. He was living and working in Daytona Beach, FL when the opportunity came to advance his career. The job was here in Louisville flying a news helicopter for local TV stations. Louisville was an obvious choice due to being closer to family. Cheryl transferred with her company at that time and they have called Louisville home since 2007. Tracy is still flying for the TV news stations in Louisville based out of Bowman Field.
Our story: Gypsy’s Sports Grille has been a dream of ours for many years. When we moved to the Fern Creek/ Highview area in 2007 we often found ourselves driving to find a variety of great food and drinks. At Gypsy’s Sports Grille, we want to provide another great choice that we feel this area is missing. Our goal is to make long lasting friendships and customers.
The name: The “Gypsy” name comes with a little history. We are supporters of no kill animal shelters and are strong supporters of Boston Terrier rescues throughout the southeast. In March of 2010 we adopted an underweight, very sick Boston Terrier that was abandoned in Oak Ridge, TN.  With this sweet girl came the name Miss Gypsy.
We thank you for taking the time to stop in. We look forward to making long lasting friendships and we hope you make Gypsy’s a part of your daily routine.
Thank you,
Tracy and Cheryl Justice
